Dr. Blatman's training includes 2 years of training in orthopedic surgery, 2 years of training in occupational and environmental medicine and toxicology, and he studied with Deitrich Klinghart and Janet Travell.
During the past 25 years, he has seen more than 11,000 patients, and his understanding of myofascial medicine has expanded.
The Myofascial Pain Workshop Series is designed to teach the participants everything they need to know to duplicate the success of the Blatman Pain Clinic in treating and healing pain patients. Lecture and hands-on topics cover anatomy, physical examination, diagnosis, myofascial release, and injection techniques that are a combination of trigger point injections, prolotherapy, and PRP therapy. Injection techniques are taught by demonstration and hands-on under close supervision.
Workshop I includes head, neck, and TMJ pain symptoms. Participants also learn the basics of nutrition for healing and decreasing pain, as well as the basics of using compounding pharmacy. Transdermal nutrients and medications are important adjuvants in treating pain.
Workshop II covers shoulder, upper back, chest, and upper extremity pain conditions. By this time, participants are able to palpate the small muscles in the hand, and they have become more comfortable with needles.
Workshop III covers abdomen, lower back, hip, buttocks, pelvis, and lower extremity pain conditions. By this time, participants are able to palpate the small muscles in the foot, and they become more comfortable with longer needles to reach deeper muscles in the lower back and buttocks.
In these workshops you will learn a skill set that can immediately change your practice and increase your success in treating pain patients with many varied diagnoses. The workshops are appropriate for beginners, as well as advanced injection therapists. There have been no experienced injection therapists who have attended and not greatly advanced their skills. Some workshop attendants have returned to take a class a second time. This is offered at a discounted fee. Click here to hear an short audio endorsement from one of our students.
