What to Expect
This page describes what you might undergo during an office visit, and various treatments that might be used to help you. We feel that our most important function is to teach you what you need to learn to get healthier and be in less pain. Whether you follow our treatment recommendations, or choose those of another doctor, in many ways you are doing an experiment on your body. We respect that this is your body, and the choices of how to do this experiment are yours to make. Our function, is to help provide direction and the best education and information possible.

Initial Office Visit
This office visit is most likely the first time you will meet Dr. Blatman and our staff. Dr. Blatman will review the materials you filled out and brought with you. Then you will change your clothes and be examined.
During this examination, Dr. Blatman will identify the source of your pain and explain what it is going to take for you to get better. Some nutritional changes may be discussed and recommended. Please bring your vitamins and nutritional supplements. If time permits, these will be reviewed and recommendations will be made. Medications will be discussed, including the list of what you are currently taking, and what changes should be considered.

Next, you will be shown the myofascial pain map of the body and how it relates to your symptoms. You will be shown myofascial release techniques for your pain pattern that can be done at home and at work. These are the techniques that you will start to do to relieve your pain.
